Summary

This position will work in various roles throughout the manufacturing facility including but not limited to assembly, paint, and fabrication.

Duties

This position will work in various roles throughout the manufacturing facility including but not limited to assembly, paint, and fabrication.

Primary Assembly Department duties include assembling, testing, and packaging all products and equipment manufactured in the facility.

  • Inspect all parts being assembled, both manufactured and purchased, for defects or poor quality, and ensure each product meets quality standards
  • Inform Supervisor of any defects or quality issues
  • Assemble components in the primary state of production
  • Assemble products in the finished state of production
  • Box finish product and ensure any literature or instructions are with the product
  • Notify Supervisor when discrepancies occur with work orders
  • Turn off and unplug air gun and stapler when shift if over
  • Oil staple gun daily
  • Inform Supervisor of needed supplies, materials, and equipment
  • May move product with a hand truck
  • May move product with forklift – if certified
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
  • Collaborate with other team associates while simultaneously developing a team environment
  • Follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Supervisor
  • Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers and new associates as needed
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions, and follow safety regulations.

 

Primary Paint Department duties include preparing parts in preparation for the powder coating process and moving component parts from the powder booth through the oven and onto the proper line staging assembly.

  • Pull parts required for powder coating from storage areas by looking at the Manufacturing Order (MO) and verifying the parts that are being hung are correct and contain all parts for that order
  • Accurately count all parts and verify with work order
  • Hang parts on the conveying system for powder coating
  • Wash parts to remove dirt and grease before powder coating
  • Move the product onto the paint line
  • Blow off parts as needed
  • Blast parts on the conveying system as time permits
  • Stage component parts for baking
  • Pull parts via an overhead conveyor from the powder booth to the oven
  • Load and unload the oven
  • Stage parts on conveyor for assembly
  • Unload and move component parts off of the conveyor line
  • Notify Supervisor when discrepancies occur with work orders
  • May move product with a hand truck
  • Inform Supervisor of needed supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Collaborate with other team associates while simultaneously developing a team environment
  • Follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and defective/questionable materials to Supervisor
  • Provide hands-on job function training to co-workers and new associates as needed
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies needed to accomplish job results
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions and follow safety regulations
  • Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
  • Perform other duties and assignments as requested

Specifications

  • Good math, reading, and writing skills
  • Frequently involves heavy lifting, pulling (up to 75 pounds), bending, stooping, subject to wet, dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
  • Must possess, or have the ability, to develop knowledge of products manufactured
  • Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work
  • Pleasant and cooperative with co-workers
  • Basic computer skills
