The Position

Manufactures parts through the use of various metal cutting, punching, and bending machines.  Operator is responsible for learning all safety points (guards and pinch points), setup, and operation of assigned machine.

A Day in the Life

  • Produce parts required from work orders matching drawing specifications
  • Perform quality checks on all parts produced and follow corrective quality process
  • Document manufacturing runs on work orders and notify Supervisor when discrepancies occur with work orders
  • Perform correct set-up of machine and required tooling for parts being manufactured
  • Practice proper use of machine and limitations of machine
  • Inform Supervisor of needed supplies, materials, and equipment
  • Collaborate with other team associates while simultaneously developing a team environment
  • Follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures
  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and defective/questionable materials to Supervisor
  • Provide hands-on job function training to co-workers and new associates as needed
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies needed to accomplish job results
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition to facilitate manufacturing functions, and follow safety regulations
  • Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision
  • Performs other duties and assignments as requested

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to read and write (in English) and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read a tape measure and have a basic understanding of fractions and decimals.
  • Must possess the ability, or have the ability to learn how, to read a blueprint, micrometer, and calipers
  • Frequently involves heavy lifting, pulling (up to 80 pounds), bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders.
  • Subject to dust, dirt, grease, and noise conditions
  • Must be willing to work additional hours as production demands increase
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be self-motivated
  • Must possess, or have the ability to develop, knowledge of products manufactured
  • Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work
  • Pleasant and cooperative with co-workers
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
