Job Summary:

Responsible for performing all kinds of welding using conventional and robotic welders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs all functions involved in operation of robotic welder, including programming, touch point, and operations corrections.
  • Positions and secures materials using proper equipment, jigs and fixtures.
  • Select voltage, current and wire feed settings within limits.
  • Assist in routine machine maintenance and repair on machine
  • Maintains Companies quality, efficiency, and productivity standards.
  • Reads job specifications (e.g.: blueprints, quality control plans) to determine type of welding and material requirements.
  • Uses equipment and supplies to perform work in accordance with operational standards.
  • Loads and unloads weldments from table onto proper racking as required.
  • Performs basic MIG welding techniques as needed.
  • Records work output and production times as needed.
  • Examines finished weldment to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans using instruments such as gauges.
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Lead or Area Manager.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Actively participates in training to increase knowledge of the equipment, technology and production capabilities of the robotic welder.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to read and write (in English) and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must possess, or have the ability, to develop knowledge of products manufactured
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work
  • Pleasant and cooperative with co-workers
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating MIG welding robots preferred
  • Technical training or coursework in welding, manufacturing, or related field preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Involves lifting up to 60 lbs., pulling, bending, stooping, subject to dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
  • Frequent Standing 90% of day, Walking 20% of day.
  • Exposed to moderate burns and flying objects.
