How much is a tow bar service?

Our tow bar service is $129 and is offered at all events.

How do I sign up?

Due to a high volume of service requests, we accept a limited number of services ahead of shows, usually a month or two in advance, by filling out the form below. If no form is available, advance signup is not yet open or has closed.

Since service requires time and attention, we limit service slots to 30 per event. Once we reach 30 signups, the form will be disabled for that event. Registered participants will be contacted by our Rally Team a couple of days before the event to provide details on the location and operating hours.

A limited number of extra service appointments will also be available at the show; please visit us at our booth or the designated service area to sign up on-site. Availability is limited, so arriving early increases your chances.

What's included in a tow bar service?

We service Blue Ox Tow Bars up to eight years old. If your tow bar is older than that, we recommend trading it in for a new Blue Ox Tow Bar. We offer a $150 credit toward a new tow bar when you trade in your old one at each event.

We conduct a thorough safety inspection of the towbar, which includes checking:
– Overall condition
– Hitch connector and pinhole
– Swivel assembly
– Swivel/hitch connector, washer, and Nyloc nut
– Bolt condition on swivel/leg assembly
– The driver and passenger side legs for dents, bends, or abnormalities
– Leg latch mechanisms to ensure they are secure and not binding
– Roll pins for proper placement and condition
– Rubber protective boots for dryness, cracking, or tears
– Zip ties holding boots in place
– Bolts, washers, and Nyloc nuts for the triple lug
– Metal condition of the triple lug and bolt hole
– The condition of 1/2″ pins and clips

We remove, disassemble, clean, and replace snap bushings on the swivel, then reassemble. We also remove one end of each rubber boot cover, clean, and re-grease the legs before reattaching the boots and checking for smooth movement. Torn or missing boot covers should be replaced at an extra cost. Bolts will be inspected for safety, with replacements recommended if needed at an additional charge.
All washers and Nyloc nuts are replaced and tightened properly. The 1/2″ pins and clips are inspected for condition and replaced as needed for an extra fee. Similarly, 5/8″ pins are checked and replaced if necessary.
